Pakistani official: Our fighter jets are taking part in operation against the Houthis
A Pakistani official claims that Pakistani fighter jets are participating in the military operation against the Houthis in Yemen, following official confirmation of the arrival of Pakistani military forces in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, powerful explosions in Riyadh followed Houthi attacks on airports that killed three people. The Saudi-led coalition responded by striking dozens of targets in Yemen.
A Pakistani official told the New York Times that Pakistani fighter jets are actively participating in the military operation against the Houthis in Yemen. The report comes after Pakistani officials confirmed to CNN that military forces had arrived in Saudi Arabia. This development raises questions about the activation of the "Mecca Agreement" and the possibility of an expanded regional campaign. Meanwhile, residents in Riyadh reported powerful explosions, a day after authorities confirmed that Houthi attacks on two major airports killed three people (two women and a Sudanese citizen) and wounded 36. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks. In response, the Saudi-led coalition struck dozens of Houthi military sites in Yemen, including missile warehouses and command centers. Yemen expert at Chatham House, Farea Al-Muslimi, stated that the Saudis are expected to respond even more aggressively, in what appears to be a return to full-scale war after the 2022 ceasefire.
