MK Yasser Hujairat from Ra'am sparked an uproar in an interview with the program "Kabinet Shishi" on i24NEWS, when he refrained from defining Hamas as a terrorist organization. When asked by interviewer Nave Dromi, Hujairat replied that part of Hamas is a charity organization, and part wants to gain the right to exist as a state. He condemned violence and terrorism in general, but refused to give a direct answer. Later in the interview, Hujairat addressed the change in Israeli society since October 7, saying that society has moved further to the right, and that opposition parties are adapting their messages to this trend. He mentioned Ra'am's past participation in the coalition and said that the policy of peace in Gaza should continue. In response to his remarks, the party "Amcha Israel" headed by Ofer Winter stated that "the senior coalition partner of Eisenkot, Lieberman, Bennett, and Golan praises the terrorist organization that massacred and raped our citizens."
