Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today (Friday) accused the head of the Central Command, Major General Avi Bluth, of 'aiding Jewish terror'. In an interview on the program 'In the Sixth Half of the Day', Olmert said that Bluth declared a closed military area in a region where there was no need for it, due to pressure from leaders of the settler community in Judea and Samaria. According to Olmert, Bluth succumbed to threats of violence, contrary to his commitment to uphold law and order and protect all residents, Jews and Palestinians alike. Olmert added that Jewish terror by settlers is being aided by elements in the public leadership in the territories and in the political leadership, including the Prime Minister, but the one at the forefront is Major General Bluth. Olmert emphasized that he has not taken such a blunt personal stance toward a general in his entire public career, but he cannot remain silent in the face of what he sees.
