Occupation continues its siege of Hebron and forcibly displaces hundreds of families

The Israeli aggression on Hebron continues for the third consecutive day, with a siege, incursions, home demolitions, and the forced evacuation of hundreds of families from their homes. The Association for Civil Rights calls for an end to the displacement and the lifting of restrictions, stating that the measures constitute collective punishment prohibited under international law.

The Israeli aggression on the city of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank continues for the third consecutive day, amid a tightened siege, home incursions, demolition of buildings and commercial facilities, and the forced evacuation of hundreds of families from their homes. On Sunday morning, occupation forces stormed the towns of Halhul, Al-Samu', Idhna, Tarqumiya, the Sanjar area, and the southern region of Hebron, raiding a number of homes, continuing search operations in residential neighborhoods, detaining citizens, and subjecting them to field interrogation. In the town of Al-Samu', forces raided several homes, also stormed the town of Idhna and searched a home, and continued raiding homes in Tarqumiya and the Sanjar area. They also deployed additional military reinforcements to the Ein Deir Baha area in Hebron, stormed Peace Street, raided a residential building, and fired heavy gunfire during their extensive incursion into the city. Amid the escalating displacement operations, the Association for Civil Rights urgently approached the Israeli army on Sunday, demanding an end to the forced displacement of residents, ensuring their immediate and safe return to their homes, lifting the siege on the city and surrounding towns, and stopping demolition operations, warning that the Israeli measures constitute collective punishment prohibited under international law.
