New batch today.. Higher Education clarifies admission mechanism for medical students in Gaza
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Gaza issued a clarifying statement regarding the aptitude test for students of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, explaining the admission mechanism and upcoming batches. It emphasized that the non-acceptance of some students is due to limited seats, not their abilities, while announcing the acceptance of a new batch today.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Gaza Strip issued a clarifying statement on Sunday regarding the aptitude test for students wishing to enroll in human medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy programs. The ministry explained that the non-acceptance of some students is not a judgment on their abilities, but rather due to the limited number of seats compared to the large number of applicants, which reached about 6,000 male and female students. A joint committee was formed from the ministry and the four universities to oversee the process. The first phase of the exam was conducted for about 4,000 students, with an additional session for those who could not take it due to power and internet outages. The number of accepted students in the current phase reached about 1,500, distributed across eight programs at the four universities. Admission numbers were increased by 20% above the basic capacity to account for exceptional circumstances. The ministry announced that a new batch of students will be accepted today according to the available capacity, with consideration for an additional increase of up to 10% per program.
