American journalist Tucker Carlson and British politician Jacob Rees-Mogg engaged in a debate about the Russian economy. Carlson attempted to argue for Russia's strength, but Rees-Mogg countered by pointing to corruption and inefficiency. The discussion ended with Carlson cutting the conversation short.

Renowned American journalist Tucker Carlson, known for his criticism of Israel and Ukraine and for spreading Russian propaganda, and British conservative politician Jacob Rees-Mogg clashed in a heated debate about the true state of the Russian economy. Carlson tried to argue that Russia has greater production capacity and immense wealth, despite the UK's nominal GDP being estimated at around four trillion dollars compared to Russia's two and a half trillion. Rees-Mogg countered, emphasizing that the British figure significantly surpasses Russia's, and that the Russian economy remains highly inefficient. He pointed to deep corruption and Moscow's inability to manage its natural resources rationally, resulting in a very low GDP per capita. Rees-Mogg recalled a historical example: having vast reserves does not guarantee prosperity if a country cannot use them effectively for centuries. Eventually, Carlson chose to end the argument, agreeing to leave the matter open.
