Mother of Nova massacre victim confronts Haliva: "You haven't come in three years"

Shelly Mesch Yogev, the mother of Libi Cohen Magori who was murdered at the Nova party, confronted former IDF Intelligence Chief Aharon Haliva in a chance meeting. She accused him of not visiting the family in three years since the murder and berated him for not bothering to find out who her daughter was. The mother published footage of the encounter and criticized his conduct.

Shelly Mesch Yogev, the mother of Libi Cohen Magori who was murdered at the Nova party on October 7, 2023, published footage today (Friday) of a chance meeting with former IDF Intelligence Chief Aharon Haliva. In the footage, the bereaved mother is heard confronting the former senior officer, saying: "You know who I am, you live a kilometer from us. Three years since she was murdered, you haven't bothered to come." According to her, the Chief of Staff at the time of the massacre, Herzi Halevi, did call the family, asked to visit, and came with a downcast look. She berated Haliva: "You have no problem inquiring about an Intelligence Corps officer, a mission manager in the Southern Command. You have no problem calling the Southern Command and saying 'Tell me who Libi was.' In a second you do that, right?" On the video, the mother wrote: "There are people here whose duty is to provide answers, who should be ashamed to walk the street, who should think twice before leaving the house and who they might meet outside, who should stop and hug those whose lives stopped on October 7, and certainly not answer them in a shameful and contemptuous manner."
