IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir ordered the reinforcement of troops ahead of Yom Kippur. Additional reinforcement companies will join already deployed units in the Northern, Central, and Southern Commands. The Air Force will increase the number of armed aircraft on standby, and the Navy will increase the number of missile ships at sea. Reserve companies capable of being transferred between commands will be strengthened. A general will be on duty at the Home Front Command. The decision was made amid preparations for the holiday period and ongoing tensions. At the end of August, Zamir already announced increased readiness in Judea and Samaria. A similar reinforcement was carried out two years ago, also amid the war. The current preparation involves reinforcement on several levels: ground forces, Air Force, Navy, reservists, and the home front, while maintaining the existing operational structure.
