"Maybe it would have been better to fly to Dubai?": Rom Breslavsky is furious about the compensation the passengers will receive

Former hostage Rom Breslavsky sharply criticized the state over the expected compensation for Fly Dubai passengers, comparing it to the meager compensation he received for two years in captivity. He demanded increased assistance for former hostages and combat veterans suffering from PTSD, and criticized the president and the media.

Former hostage Rom Breslavsky harshly criticized the State of Israel following the expected compensation for passengers of the Fly Dubai flight, where a kidnapping attempt occurred. In a Facebook post, Breslavsky compared the compensation the passengers will receive — about half a million shekels per person — to the compensation he himself received for two years in Hamas captivity, 60,000 shekels. "Maybe it would have been better to fly to Dubai instead of being at Nova?" he wrote. Breslavsky called the state "an abandoner of its citizens" and demanded increased assistance for former hostages and soldiers dealing with post-trauma. He also criticized the president, who he said is "looking for a new gimmick" regarding the possibility that passengers from the flight would participate in lighting a torch, and called for first granting that honor to Yossi Sardi, Omar Amselem, and Itzik Saidian. He concluded his remarks with the sentence: "What doesn't echo in the headlines doesn't get attention from the state."
