Massive raid in Egypt: Muslim Brotherhood propaganda network foiled

Egyptian security forces raided a media cell of the "Mutsadash" platform, arresting six activists suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization "Muslim Brotherhood." The Interior Ministry in Cairo stated that it was a propaganda arm operated under the direction of an activist who fled abroad, producing fake news with foreign funding.

Egyptian security forces conducted a widespread operation this week against the incitement infrastructure of the Muslim Brotherhood. The raids, which began on Monday night, targeted an entire media cell of the online platform "Mutsadash" and included locations in Cairo, Port Said, and the Gharbia Governorate. Six key activists were arrested: Abdullah Qadri, Muhammad Abu Amira, Omar Hilal, Islam Barakat, Muhammad Mahmoud, and Muhammad Adel. Computers, communication equipment, and mobile phones were confiscated during the raids. The Egyptian Interior Ministry revealed that the platform, which presented itself as a fact-checking website, was managed from abroad by Abd al-Rahman Mansour—a Muslim Brotherhood activist fleeing the law. The six detainees functioned as a field cell that produced and curated biased fake news for Mansour, while receiving funds from foreign sources. Only one of the detainees is registered with the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate. Mansour claimed this was an infringement on journalistic activity, but the Egyptian security establishment views the cell's activity as part of the Muslim Brotherhood's efforts to delegitimize, attempting to disguise hostile activity under the guise of press freedom.
