Lily Deri in an interview: "We will not compromise on the conscription law - even if there is no right-wing government"

Lily Deri, placed sixth on the "Amcha Yisrael" list headed by Brig. Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter, gives an interview to Israel Hayom presenting her political positions. Deri, a former Likud member and head of the bureau of former Minister of Public Diplomacy Galit Distel Atbaryan, entered politics after the fall of her son Saadia in Gaza in June 2024. In the interview, she states that her party will recommend Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister but sets a clear red line on the conscription law: "Read My Lips, we will not break, even if there is no right-wing government. Whoever does not serve will not receive." Deri recounts pressure from Likud activists, insults and slander, but says she withstands them thanks to two compasses: God and her son Saadia. She rejects the possibility of joining the other bloc, arguing that her party is right-wing and cannot recommend someone who would go with the Arab parties. Deri expresses a desire to serve on the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee to ensure the conscription law passes.
