Two shafts located in Qalqilya, possibility of tunnel ruled out

IDF, Border Police and Judea and Samaria District forces located two shafts approximately 12 meters deep during an overnight operation in Qalqilya. An examination ruled out a tunnel route and confirmed they were not near the seam zone. Weapons were found and four suspects arrested.

An examination of the shafts ruled out the existence of a tunnel route and confirmed that they were not near the seam zone. An M16 rifle, a shotgun, a handgun and ammunition were found near the shafts. Four suspects allegedly involved in terrorist activity were arrested and transferred for questioning. Security forces are continuing to operate in the area to locate additional weapons and shafts.
