Katz: "Erdogan is a paper sultan - I suggest he stop meddling with Israel"

Katz called Erdogan a "paper sultan", accused him of supporting Hamas and remaining silent in the face of missiles from Iran, and called on him to stop meddling with Israel.

Defense Minister Israel Katz harshly attacked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following his speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, in which he called Gaza "the most inhumane concentration camp of our time". In response, Katz called Erdogan a "paper sultan who is strong in anti-Semitic incitement speeches, but weak in actions". He accused Erdogan of embracing and funding Hamas, and noted that Erdogan did not respond to missiles fired by Iran into Turkish territory, and signed a "Mecca agreement" to protect Saudi Arabia but disappeared when the Houthis fired missiles toward Mecca. Katz concluded by calling on Erdogan to cease his attacks against Israel, and clarified: "The State of Israel is strong and knows how to take care of itself – we are not the Kurds and the helpless people he abuses in Turkey."
