The family harshly criticized the decision and expressed anger that most of the house would likely remain standing. In their view, a partial demolition does not fulfill the deterrent effect that is supposed to underlie the step against terrorists' homes. On the other hand, the IDF rejected claims that the military prosecution prevented the full demolition. In response, it was argued that the method of demolition was determined by professional factors, and that the Central Command commander ordered the confiscation and demolition of two out of three floors.
