Three indictments were filed today (Tuesday) against suspects for assaulting police officers in Lod. The incident began with a check of an electric scooter rider by Lod station police officers on September 26. While issuing a traffic ticket, the rider threatened the officer, saying: "Take off the uniform, I have no problem sitting in prison again because of you." The confrontation escalated into violence, during which two officers were attacked. One of them was lightly injured and taken to the hospital. Another policewoman was also hurt and sustained bruises. Additional forces were called to the scene, subdued the situation, and arrested those involved. Following an investigation, evidence was gathered and indictments were filed against three suspects. The charges against them include aggravated assault of police officers together, aggravated assault, obstruction of a police officer in the line of duty, and threats.
