Gaza Division intel officer on 10/7 petitions court: "I am the only IDF commander paying a price"

Lt. Col. Arieh Amidror, the intelligence officer of the Gaza Division on the morning of October 7, petitioned the Administrative Affairs Court against his dismissal from the IDF. The petition claims he is the only IDF commander paying a real price for the failures of the military and the state. Last week, the Supreme Court allowed the publication of his name.

Lt. Col. Arieh Amidror, who served as the intelligence officer of the Gaza Division on the morning of October 7, 2023, petitioned the Administrative Affairs Court against his dismissal from the IDF. In the petition, filed through his attorneys, it was stated that "the petitioner is the only IDF commander paying a real price, in the form of loss of his rights, for the failures of the military and the state, regarding intelligence and warning of the intentions of the terrorist organization Hamas." Last week, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal against the publication ban and allowed the publication of his name and identifying details. The Supreme Court's decision stated that there is no security impediment to publication, considering publications on social networks and the public interest. The judges noted that other officers, such as Brig. Gen. Yossi Sariel, were made public before the end of their roles, so there is no reason to distinguish between the cases. The current petition seeks to examine the dismissal itself and its proportionality relative to others.
