The Wall Street Journal reports that Chinese companies are supplying Yemen's Houthis with dual-use goods, including critical drone components. This gives the Houthis an additional supply source beyond Iran. For years, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has smuggled weapons, missile parts, and drone components to Yemen on small fishing vessels, though some shipments have been intercepted. Routes through Djibouti and Somalia have also been used, and now a Chinese supply line has been added. While Iranian technology remains the backbone of Houthi weaponry, Chinese dual-use components are playing an increasingly prominent role in developing and sustaining their drone fleet. Earlier, Kursor reported that Iranian Armed Forces Commander's advisor General Yahya Rahim Safavi stated that the Houthis possess significant military capabilities and control the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Additionally, it was reported that China privately asked Iran to use its influence over the Houthis to reduce their military activity following a request from Saudi Arabia.
