In the statement, published today (Tuesday), the guild clarified that it finds it difficult to bless the work amid a copyright lawsuit being conducted against the series' producers. At the center of the affair is screenwriter, playwright, and actress Rotem Carmeli, who filed a lawsuit in April 2025 at the Tel Aviv District Court against producer Yair Dori and other parties. Carmeli claims that the series is based on materials from her original work "Facu Yeah", which includes a format, synopsis, character structure, and a script for the first episode. The lawsuit, valued at 2.6 million shekels, has not yet been decided. The guild is providing Carmeli with full backing and is considering expanding support to the international arena by contacting screenwriters' unions worldwide. The guild emphasized that protecting copyright is a condition for the existence of a fair creative industry, and warned that the disputed work may be produced and distributed worldwide before the court's ruling.
