Internal correspondence from the leasing and rental company Hertz Israel, obtained by 'Calcalist', reveals harsh complaints from company officials about vehicles from the Chinese automaker Chery. In correspondence sent to clients in recent weeks, it was written, among other things: "The cars are full of malfunctions and waiting in the garage for months," "a less reliable car and poor service," and "the price of Chery is higher than usual due to very high maintenance costs." Hertz Israel, which operates a fleet of tens of thousands of vehicles, also purchases cars from Frisbee, the importer of Chery. This is the second time in a short period that a major leasing company has expressed dissatisfaction with Chery in Israel, after Budget Israel complained about issues with delivery times and garage wait times. Chery, with its various brands, is one of the best-selling conglomerates in Israel. Hertz Israel stated that it manages a fleet of about 50,000 vehicles and has purchased over 1,000 Chery vehicles since the beginning of the year, and that pricing is based on professional and economic considerations. Frisbee stated that Chery is a success story with about 80,000 deliveries in four years, and that it is working to streamline the service system.
