Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has returned to campaigning to support Democratic candidates in five states, ahead of the midterm elections on November 3. Harris's tour includes Georgia, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin, in an effort to help Democrats regain control of Congress. During an event in Las Vegas, she attacked the administration of President Donald Trump, describing it as corrupt, cruel, and incompetent. A Reuters/Ipsos poll in June showed that 39% of Americans view Harris favorably, compared to 82% of Democrats and only 7% of Republicans. Harris has not decided whether to run for president again, after losing to Trump in the 2024 election. She faced criticism over the circumstances of her 2024 candidacy, after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed her. Harris later criticized Biden's decision to seek reelection, and also criticized the Israeli government over the war in Gaza. Harris said she has not made a decision on running again, arguing that the 2028 election will not matter if Democrats fail to address the 2026 election.
