"We will not allow anyone to hijack the rally": October Council in urgent appeal to police commissioner
The October Council appealed to Police Commissioner Danny Levy hours before the rally at Hostages Square, warning of planned attempts by elements linked to the coalition to disrupt the event through provocations and the insertion of signs. The families demand that the police separate the crowd from troublemakers and prevent confrontations.
Hours before the planned rally this evening (Saturday) at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, the October Council appealed to Police Commissioner, Chief Superintendent Danny Levy, with an urgent request to prevent disruptions. According to the organizers, information was received from authorized sources and party leaders about preparations by elements linked to coalition parties to provoke, insert signs and flags not belonging to the organizers, and create images of confrontations that would be presented as part of the rally. The families demand that the police separate the crowd from troublemakers, station a senior police officer in direct contact with the event management, and document and handle any violent action. The rally, expected to draw hundreds of thousands of participants, including bereaved families and hostages, is intended to demand the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the events of October 7. The organizers emphasized that they will not allow anyone to hijack the message.
