The 6-year-old boy with special needs, whose mother Yana Zikova (43) was murdered last night (Friday) allegedly by her partner in Haifa, is being treated by welfare services. His grandmother, who lives in Ukraine, is making her way to Israel to care for him. The boy, a first-grade student in a special therapeutic framework, witnessed the murder and was evacuated from the scene by police and welfare authorities. The suspect was arrested and the knife allegedly used in the murder was seized at the scene. Neighbors said they heard screams from the apartment and called the police. MDA teams found Zikova in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times and were forced to pronounce her death. Neighbors described the relationship between the two as 'complex' and noted they were separated. Zikova has no family in Israel, and the grandmother helped raise the child after she was injured in a car accident.
