About 500 12th-grade students from Givatayim participated in a heated election panel at the sports hall of the Telem school. At the end of the panel, the students voted for the party they found most convincing. The big winner was Together (Beyachad) led by Gadi Eisenkot, which received 42.7% of the vote. It was followed by the Democrats with 19.3%, Yashar! with 13.1%, and Likud led by Benjamin Netanyahu settled for only 6.2%. The panel included sharp confrontations, mainly around issues of governance and personal security. MK Merav Ben Ari (Together) attacked the Minister of Public Security following an incident of violence against police officers. The representative of Otzma Yehudit, Bavli, left the hall after an argument with Ben Ari. Issues of women's exclusion, the enlistment of Haredim and Arabs, and the composition of the future coalition were also raised. Gilad Kariv (Democrats) called for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. Shaul Meridor (Yashar!) defined the elections as the most fateful in the country's history. Ofer Cassif (Joint List) was met with boos and called for peace.
