Simon Leviev, who gained worldwide notoriety following the 'Tinder Swindler' affair, plans to launch a new dating app designed to identify liars and fake users. In an interview with the British network ITV, Leviev claimed that after being convicted and serving a prison sentence for fraud, theft, and forgery, he seeks to return to society as a 'rehabilitated person'. According to him, his personal experience actually provides him with the necessary tools to identify attempts at fraud and manipulation. Host Ben Shephard was unimpressed by the initiative and confronted Leviev on air, stating that he is 'notorious as anything but a trustworthy person'. Leviev, born Shimon Yehuda Hayut, gained international fame following the 2022 Netflix documentary 'The Tinder Swindler'. In 2019, he was convicted in Israel of fraud, theft, and forgery and sentenced to 15 months in prison, of which he served about five months.
