Euroleague CEO Chus Bueno issued a sharp warning to the NBA regarding its plans to establish a competing league in Europe. In an interview with Reuters, Bueno said that an independent entry of the NBA into the European market would be a "disaster" and would severely harm European basketball. His comments come after Euroleague clubs rejected the NBA's initial cooperation proposal on October 6. Bueno emphasized that the owners expressed a clear stance, but the Euroleague is always open to dialogue under conditions that suit the existing structure. Meanwhile, the Euroleague is advancing expansion plans that include increasing to 24 teams and granting up to eight long-term licenses, with an announcement expected in mid-November.
