Under the microscope: British pediatrician who compared Israel to cancer
A British doctor behind the 'Poppy Palestine' project shared an antisemitic illustration depicting Israel as cancer under a microscope. The Campaign Against Antisemitism reported him to the UK General Medical Council. The doctor also defended the Hamas attack on October 7 as 'armed resistance'.
A British doctor behind the 'Poppy Palestine' project, which takes the British red poppy symbol and overlays it with pro-Palestinian messages, shared an antisemitic illustration on social media depicting Israel as a cancer in the body. The illustration, since deleted, showed a doctor looking through a microscope at diseased cells with an Israeli flag under the caption 'This is the worst cancer I have ever seen'. The Campaign Against Antisemitism reported the doctor to the UK General Medical Council, with the organization's spokesperson calling the act 'disgusting'. Additionally, in a now-deleted YouTube video, the doctor defended the Hamas attack on October 7 as a legitimate 'armed resistance' movement, while condemning the murder of 1,200 Israelis. Proceeds from 'Poppy Palestine' sales go to organizations including 'Friends of Al-Aqsa', which the UK Home Office has designated as an Islamist far-left organization. The hospital where the doctor trained clarified that he is not employed there and condemned antisemitism.
