Medica network announced the appointment of Dr. Eitan Hai-Am, former Director General of the Ministry of Health, as CEO of Medica Medical Center Tel Aviv, replacing outgoing CEO Anat Nussbaum. The appointment comes amid the closure of the center following severe deficiencies uncovered in a Ministry of Health inspection, including performing procedures contrary to the registration certificate, illegal use of narcotic drugs, and employing unauthorized personnel in the operating room. Nussbaum informed employees of the decision, writing that "the role of CEO carries weight, a supervisory duty, and moral and managerial significance." Hai-Am will lead efforts to reopen the center, subject to Ministry of Health approval.
