Pressure on chairman of the 'The Haredi Public' party, Moti Leitner, to withdraw from the election race is growing. Likud campaign manager, Tzviqa Brot, met yesterday (Monday, October 19, 2026) with Leitner and offered him a project manager position with a budget of hundreds of millions of shekels. Leitner initially rejected the offer, but later another meeting took place. According to sources, the position is not a minister or deputy minister, but a project manager for the Haredi sector, including responsibility for opening state-Haredi educational institutions and integrating Haredim into the workforce. The outline was formulated by Bezalel Smotrich's representative, Omer Rahamim. Leitner hinted he would run to the end, but made clear he would not agree to promises without guarantees that the Haredi factions would not torpedo the plan. Likud and the 'The Haredi Public' party deny that it is a minister or deputy minister position.
