Deri in response to Channel 14's exposé: "The left will erase the Jewish identity"

Shas chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri responded harshly to a Channel 14 exposé, according to which Democrats chairman Yair Golan presented to his party activists abroad a plan to "remove religion from the public sphere." Deri wrote on his Twitter account: "Yair Golan openly says what the left-wing government intends to do: erase the Jewish identity of the State of Israel. We are facing a real danger. Now the choice is clearer than ever: Shas and a Jewish state, or the left and a state like all other nations." The exposé included mention of steps Golan mentioned, including promoting civil marriage and operating public transportation on Shabbat. Additionally, Golan referred to the wavering right-wing parties, including those identified with Ofer Winter and Israel Zelicha, and called them the "game changer of the elections."
