Brawl in Herzliya apartment ends in death: three arrested

Three residents of Herzliya, two men and a woman, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a brawl in their apartment that ended in the death of a man. According to the suspicion, the incident occurred on August 22 around 9:00 PM, when the three, immigrants from the former Soviet Union, were in the apartment together with the deceased. During the brawl, under the influence of alcohol, the suspects attacked the deceased and he suffered severe injuries. Police officers from the Galilot station who were called to the scene found him unconscious, and medical teams evacuated him in critical condition to Meir Medical Center. The deceased remained hospitalized, sedated and ventilated, for about three weeks, until his death was determined on September 12. Police are examining the connection between the blows he suffered and his death, and the degree of involvement of each suspect. The three were arrested this morning by investigators from the Yarkon District Crime Fighting Unit and transferred for questioning. They are expected to be brought to court for an extension of their detention.
