Firefighters and volunteers from the Judea regional station are operating in several sectors. Due to challenging terrain and the proximity of the fire to major traffic arteries and structures, the planes were dispatched. The incident commander, Fire Captain Michael Randy, stated that the fire is spreading under the cover of winds, and that reinforced teams are operating at the scene. Officers from the Etzion station are deployed in the area to keep onlookers away and manage traffic.
