Attorney Oded Shpirer appointed CEO of the Levinsky-Wingate Academic Center

The Levinsky-Wingate Academic Center announced the appointment of attorney Oded Shpirer as its CEO, effective December 1, 2026. Shpirer, who served as CEO of the Israel Securities Authority since 2019, will replace Shlomo Ben-Gal, who held the position since 2010. Incoming President Prof. Shira Yalon-Haimovich welcomed the appointment and emphasized the need to improve the education system.

The Levinsky-Wingate Academic Center announced the appointment of attorney Oded Shpirer as CEO of the institution, effective December 1, 2026. Shpirer, who served as CEO of the Israel Securities Authority since 2019, brings experience in managing daily operations, annual budgets, human resources, technology, and academic relations. He will replace Shlomo Ben-Gal, who served as CEO of the Wingate Academic Center since 2010 and continued in the role after the merger with the Levinsky Academic College in March 2022. Incoming President Prof. Shira Yalon-Haimovich noted that the public education system is in a severe crisis and that Shpirer's experience will contribute to creating significant academic-social impact. Shpirer stated that he enters the role believing that the most significant impact is in education and academia. The academic center offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in education, teaching, and sports across three campuses: Tel Aviv, Netanya, and Eilat.
