Al-Ghoul to "Palestine": Occupation's claims about a ceasefire in Gaza are smoke and mirrors

Muhammad al-Ghoul, a member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front, said that the Israeli occupation's claims about a truce or ceasefire in Gaza do not reflect the field reality, as targeting and crimes against Palestinians continue. He affirmed that the genocide war is ongoing despite the announcement of the agreement, calling on the international community and factions to act.

Muhammad al-Ghoul, a member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, told the newspaper "Palestine" that the Israeli occupation's claims about a truce or ceasefire in the Gaza Strip do not reflect the field reality, as the occupation continues to target Palestinians and commit crimes against them in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. Al-Ghoul explained that talk of a ceasefire has become used as "smoke and mirrors," stressing that the genocide war against the Palestinian people is still ongoing despite the announcement of the agreement. He called on the international community to urgently act to save the Palestinian people and work to stop the war, and also called on factions, forces, and the leadership of the Authority to hold a comprehensive national dialogue to reach a unified national strategy and unified leadership. The statements come as the occupation's violations of the announced ceasefire agreement in October 2025 continue. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the war's toll since October 7, 2023, has reached approximately 74,022 martyrs and 175,098 injuries, while the number of martyrs since the start of the ceasefire agreement on October 11, 2025, has reached about 1,421 martyrs.
