After the Flydubai incident — problems with a flight to a favorite Arab country

The Israeli airline Israir has suspended plans to expand air service to Marrakesh, Morocco, due to new security requirements following an incident on a Flydubai flight. The company postponed leasing an additional aircraft and halted ticket sales for flights to Marrakesh until the situation becomes clear. Upcoming flights, including one scheduled for October 13, are operating as scheduled. Other Israeli airlines, including Arkia, continue flights as usual.

The Israeli airline Israir announced a temporary suspension of plans to expand air service to Marrakesh, Morocco. The company postponed its intention to lease an additional aircraft for flights on this route. The decision, announced by the company on October 13, is linked to new security requirements that emerged after a dangerous incident on a Flydubai flight that nearly ended in disaster. Israir emphasized that it is awaiting further instructions from the authorized security authorities. Until the situation becomes clear, the company will suspend ticket sales for all its flights to Marrakesh. However, upcoming departures are not expected to be canceled: the flight scheduled for October 13, as well as a flight next week, are set to operate as planned. Israir's decision concerns plans to expand the route, not a complete cessation of air service to Marrakesh. Other Israeli airlines continue operations on this route for now. Arkia, which operates two weekly flights, is flying to Marrakesh as usual. Additionally, Sun d'Or, part of the El Al group, plans to launch direct flights to Marrakesh. The first departure is scheduled for November 16, but the launch depends on obtaining the necessary permits.
