After Flydubai: The near-miss averted at the 90th minute on a flight to Israel - "Very disturbing"

Three Georgian citizens, two of them carrying forged Israeli passports and the third barred from entering Israel, were removed from a plane moments before takeoff from Italy to Israel. The incident occurred amid heightened alert following an attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight just days earlier. Passengers experienced stress and anxiety, and the pilot requested luggage be removed and identities verified.

Three Georgian citizens were removed from a plane moments before takeoff from Italy to Israel, at the 90th minute. Two of them carried forged Israeli passports, and the third is barred from entering Israel. The incident occurred amid heightened alert and high sensitivity in the aviation industry, just days after the attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight. Passengers on the flight described stress and anxiety: "The Flydubai incident happened just five days before. The pilot and crew asked us to remove luggage from the bins, to make sure everyone identified their own luggage, those were very tense moments." The decision to remove the three was made following demands from the Population and Immigration Authority at the Ministry of Interior. The Authority stated that two attempted to fly using forged passports. It is not yet clear how they passed check-in, border control, and security screening. "What's frightening is that they managed to pass check-in, security screening, and border control. They entered the sterile area of the airport, and managed to reach the plane and sit in their seats. That is very, very disturbing," a passenger said.
