The Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court sentenced San Tavel to 28 months in actual prison, the third convict in the case of stealing the sound systems of Matan Mordechai Lior and his partner Amitai Rahum from the Nova festival site after the October 7 massacre. Additionally, he was given a suspended sentence, a fine of 10,000 shekels, compensation of 30,000 shekels to the family, and his vehicle was confiscated. The verdict was delivered after several delays, including a hearing set for October 7, the third anniversary of the massacre, which Tavel did not attend due to his medical condition. The other two convicts in the case received harsher sentences: Ram Shahin to seven years in prison, a fine of 60,000 shekels, and compensation of 75,000 shekels; Daniel Hasson to 40 months in prison, a fine of 30,000 shekels, and compensation of 40,000 shekels. According to the indictment, the individuals entered the closed military zone two days after the massacre and removed two sound systems while making false representations. The equipment, owned by "Sound Fanatic" company of Lior and Rahum, was valued at about one million shekels and was located and returned during the investigation by the police's Yoav unit. Matan Lior's father, Ofer Lior, said that behind every hearing stands a bereaved family, and that they fought so that those who harmed what he left behind would bear responsibility.
