Young man shot dead in the south; suspicion: murdered over a dispute about a plot of land

A 20-year-old resident of Segev Shalom was shot dead in the town. The suspicion is that the background to the incident is a dispute over a plot of land. Another person was moderately wounded. Police have opened an investigation.

A 20-year-old resident of Segev Shalom was shot dead this evening (Monday) in the town. At 21:16 a report was received at the Magen David Adom 101 hotline about a wounded person who had been brought to a local clinic after apparently being hurt in an incident of violence. Paramedics gave medical treatment and evacuated him to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva, where his death was pronounced. According to the initial suspicion, the background to the incident is a dispute over a plot of land. Another person was moderately wounded by the gunfire. Police have opened an investigation, are gathering evidence and are carrying out searches to locate suspects. According to the suspicion, the background is criminal, as part of a dispute between families. A senior MDA paramedic described that the wounded man was unconscious with no pulse and not breathing, and resuscitation efforts were performed.
