A delivery driver from New York who is not Jewish decided to learn Hasidic songs in order to create common ground with the Jewish community in the areas where he works. According to him, he researched Jewish culture because he operates within the Jewish community. In a video that racked up hundreds of thousands of views on social media, he recounted that in the past, when he passed by the place, the children would cover their ears. When he began playing the songs of the Hasidic singer Hershy Weinberger, the children were excited and even asked him: "You're Jewish?!". When he replied that he was not, they asked: "So you like our music?". According to him, he lets them enjoy it for ten minutes. The driver noted that he has a personal connection to the American-Hasidic singer: "I know some of the words in the song, I love Hershy Weinberger." According to him, he came across the song about a month ago and went back online to look up the lyrics. At the end he wondered with a smile: "This music is so positive, how can you not love it?". The article mentions a similar case: a Scottish social media activist known by the handle itsmemorgan posted a few months ago a video in which she performed the hit "Jerusalem" by the Miami Boys Choir, which garnered about 40,000 likes.
