10 years in prison for daycare worker convicted of 277 counts of violence against toddlers

The Central District Court in Lod sentenced Roan Abd al-Hay, a daycare worker at a kindergarten in Hod HaSharon, to ten years in prison after she was convicted of 277 counts of violence against eight toddlers. The offenses were committed between May and July 2023 against children aged eight months to a year and a half. In addition, she was ordered to pay 450,000 shekels in compensation to the parents.

The Central District Court in Lod sentenced today (Sunday) Roan Abd al-Hay, a daycare worker at the "Gan Shel Sigal" kindergarten in Hod HaSharon, to ten years in prison. Abd al-Hay was convicted of committing 277 counts of violence against eight toddlers aged eight months to a year and a half, between May and July 2023. Her conviction includes nine counts of abuse of a helpless minor and 122 counts of aggravated assault. In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered her to pay 450,000 shekels in compensation to the toddlers' parents. The sentence was handed down after she was convicted of hundreds of counts of violence against toddlers under her supervision.
