Yosef Haddad: "Going after us? This will cost the right in the elections"

Yosef Haddad, number 2 in the "Amcha Yisrael" party, responded today (Monday) to a publication by C14 stating that Likud has decided that party chairman Ofer Winter is dangerous to the right-wing bloc, and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to order "going after Winter with full force." Haddad said: "Going after Amcha Yisrael? That's exactly what will cost the right in the elections." According to him, "our grassroots are boiling, the public is with us, and the polls only prove what we feel in every corner of the country: the people of Israel want real change." Haddad added that the party does not intend to withdraw from the race: "We are the only ones who know how to break through, bring votes back to the right-wing camp, and connect all parts of the nation. Let no one doubt, we will run until the end without hesitation and without blinking." The background to these remarks is the publication by C14, according to which at a Likud campaign meeting it was determined that Winter poses a danger to the right-wing bloc and might join Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Lieberman after the elections. "Amcha Yisrael," headed by Brig. Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter, submitted its list for the 26th Knesset without uniting with other parties in the right-wing bloc. The list includes, among others, Yosef Haddad, Netali Shem Tov, Eran Ben-Ari, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, Lali Deri, Ronen Bodnero, and Dovid Ben Zion. The party is trying to present itself as capable of bringing back right-wing voters who have lost faith in the existing political system, while Likud warns of a split in votes that could harm the bloc in the upcoming elections.
