Former Shin Bet head Yoram Cohen, a member of the Yashar party led by Gadi Eisenkot, warned in an interview with 103fm about the possibility that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would order a proactive attack on Iran close to the elections. Cohen argued that it is difficult to trust Netanyahu's judgment, and that he might use the Iranian threat for political purposes. According to him, the information he received does not indicate an urgent need for a proactive attack, and he called on the Chief of Staff to stand up to the cabinet if a decision is made that is not operationally necessary. Cohen concluded that "the only ones who can prevent this are the Chief of Staff and the US President." Later in the interview, Cohen addressed the possibility of Ra'am joining the Eisenkot government, clarifying that this is possible if it accepts the four conditions set by the party, but noted that currently no party accepts them. He emphasized that the party will not compromise on central issues such as the mandatory draft for all.
