Yemen: About 20 soldiers killed in Houthi ballistic missile attack on army camp

About 20 soldiers were killed in a Houthi ballistic missile attack on a Yemeni army camp in Shabwa province. At least 24 were wounded. Meanwhile, six people were wounded in a Houthi strike in Najran, Saudi Arabia. Egyptian President al-Sisi announced that Egypt would act to defend Saudi Arabia if requested.

About 20 soldiers were killed on Monday in a ballistic missile attack by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist organization on a base of the Yemeni government army in Shabwa province in southern Yemen. The missiles struck the Al-Alam camp, and at least 24 additional fighters were wounded, according to military sources in the Yemeni government who spoke to the Associated Press. The incident adds to a series of Houthi attacks on targets of the UN-recognized government in Yemen. On Friday, two missiles hit the airport of Aden, the interim capital, and five people were killed in launches toward the presidential palace complex in the city. At the same time, the Houthi terrorist organization is waging a campaign against Saudi Arabia. Last night, six people were wounded by a Houthi launch in a residential area in the city of Najran in the southern kingdom, according to Saudi civil defense. In Riyadh, workers at the Kingdom Center office tower were instructed to work from home following a security alert and drone interceptions. Against the backdrop of the attacks on the kingdom, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Saturday evening that his country would act to defend it if requested. The fighting in Yemen resumed in September, after the collapse of the ceasefire signed in 2022.
