Russia attacked Kyiv and its surroundings last night (Monday) with 269 drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. At least four people were killed in the capital, the surrounding district, and the center of the country, according to Ukrainian authorities. In Kyiv itself, one person was killed and eight were injured. Impacts were recorded in three districts, including a subway station and a medical facility in a 25-story residential building that caught fire. Outside the capital, in the city of Irpin in the Kyiv district, a woman was killed by a direct hit on a private home. According to the district police, ten people were injured in the district, including five children. In the city of Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine, two men were killed by a missile strike on an industrial infrastructure facility. Four others were injured there, including a 15-year-old boy. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that it intercepted 243 drones and four missiles, but impacts were recorded at 25 locations. In contrast, the Russian Defense Ministry described the attack as a "massive strike" and claimed it hit a data center in Kyiv, a logistics hub, a drone component factory, and a locomotive depot used for storing missiles. The attack comes days after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order waiving new sanctions against Russia.
