Chairman of the "Democrats" party, Yair Golan, published today (Thursday) a public call on his X account to Naftali Bennett, Gadi Eisenkot, and Avigdor Lieberman to stop the internal clashes within the left bloc and work together ahead of the upcoming elections. Golan wrote: "We must not attack each other. The game of musical chairs is not important – the country is," and added: "You know we will all recommend the same candidate for prime minister (I have already given up, now it's your turn). Eyes on the ball. Let's work together as a bloc and so that the bloc wins." The call comes against the backdrop of escalating struggles within the bloc, particularly the tension between Eisenkot, Bennett, and Lieberman over the question of leadership and the identity of the prime ministerial candidate. Yesterday, Bennett and Lieberman met and discussed ways to strengthen the bloc, a move that increased suspicion towards Eisenkot. Golan, who presented himself as having already given up on personal ambitions, is trying to mend the rifts in the opposition.
