A Hanukkah show called "Hysteria" featuring singer Eyal Golan is being marketed by police funds to police officers, while Golan himself is under police investigation. The case concerning Golan is being investigated by the Central Fraud Unit of the police, following a complaint against him published in May, and has undergone supplementary investigations in recent weeks. In the "Social Games" case, the central unit of the Tel Aviv district was required by the prosecution to carry out supplementary investigations, following an appeal filed by complainants Taisiya Zimolotsky and N. against the closure of the case. The police opposed carrying out the supplementary actions, and the prosecution is expected to submit its response to the High Court by tomorrow, in reply to the petition filed by N. against the police. Orit Sulitzeanu, CEO of the Association of Rape Crisis Centers, said in response: "The fact that the police funds chose from all the excellent singers in Israel to specifically invite Eyal Golan, the hero of the 'Pothmobile' affair, to perform before Israel's police officers, is simply disgraceful. This is a distorted decision to invite a singer tainted by a huge stain of disgraceful, humiliating, and abusive behavior towards Taisiya and towards N." "A singer who managed to evade punishment due to a negligent investigation by the Israel Police, and now this singer has been chosen by that same police to perform before them. How will victims of sexual violence dare to come and file complaints with the Israel Police when its officers go to dance at a Golan performance? We call on the police funds and the Israel Police to cancel this performance because it constitutes a resounding slap in the face to victims of sexual violence."
