Border inspectors at the Allenby Bridge Crossing denied entry to 33 Chinese nationals on Tuesday morning after discovering they were using forged Japanese passports. The Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) said the group, consisting of 27 men and six women, had entered and exited Jordan on legitimate Chinese passports before presenting the forged Japanese documents when attempting to cross into Israel. The incident occurred on the eve of the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre and less than a week after the attempted hijacking of a flydubai flight. PIBA praised the professionalism of the border inspectors and the technology deployed at the crossings, which flagged the suspected forged documentation and allowed for a thorough examination. The forged passports were seized for further investigation.
