US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said this evening (Sunday) at the Conference of Mayors of the American Jewish Congress in Jerusalem that he is unaware of any sudden halt to US military aid to Israel. Huckabee responded to questions from i24NEWS and addressed the results of the Israeli elections: 'We will work with any government that is formed.' He clarified that he has not yet spoken with Gadi Eisenkot since the elections, and that the US position is that this is a decision for Israeli citizens. Regarding the possibility of a US strike on Iran, Huckabee said he does not know about it, but expressed full confidence in President Trump. On the cessation of military aid, the ambassador said the idea of a gradual halt came from the prime minister, and that the current memorandum of understanding is valid for ten years, with two years remaining. He concluded: 'I hope the United States will never be stupid enough to end the amazing partnership between it and the State of Israel.'
