Instagram is trying to attract content creators from YouTube to its new format, Features, for long videos of up to 90 minutes. According to a Business Insider report, the company is offering popular creators sums of $50,000 to $500,000 for uploading content on the platform. A Meta spokesperson confirmed the payments but noted that the terms of the agreements are confidential. The platform is primarily aimed at podcasters, comedians, and other creators, and allows a link to the full video. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri hinted at future monetization options. Meta has previously offered similar incentives to TikTok creators. This time there is no exclusivity requirement, only same-day posting on both platforms. The competition comes amid a PEW survey showing a significant advantage for YouTube in usage among US adults.
