A worker, about 30, was seriously and unstablely injured after being struck by a heavy object at a construction site on Nahala Street in Ashkelon. The incident occurred today (Monday) at 12:50, and the report was received at the 101 emergency hotline of Magen David Adom in the Lachish region. MDA paramedics and emergency medical technicians who arrived at the scene found the worker suffering from a severe head injury. After initial stabilization on site, he was urgently evacuated in a mobile intensive care unit to Barzilai Hospital in the city. MDA emergency medics Andrei Volkov and Itzik Elbaz said the worker was in a confused state and suffering from multi-system trauma, and that he was hit by a heavy object that apparently fell from a crane. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
