After the panic in the center, the IDF clarifies: the shafts found in the Sharon - not tunnels

Following intelligence information, security forces located two shafts about 12 meters deep and weapons in Qalqilya. The IDF clarified that after inspection, the presence of a tunnel route in the shafts was ruled out, contrary to initial reports. Four suspects of terrorist activity were arrested.

In a nighttime operation by IDF forces, the Judea and Samaria Border Police, and the Shai District in Qalqilya, two shafts approximately 12 meters deep were located based on intelligence information. Near the shafts, weapons were found: an M16 rifle, a hunting rifle, a pistol, and ammunition, which were confiscated. The IDF clarified that after examining the shafts, the presence of a tunnel route was ruled out, contrary to official and irresponsible statements made on the matter. The forces arrested four suspects of terrorist activity and transferred them for questioning. The operation continues to locate additional shafts and weapons in the area, while maintaining the safety of residents.
